I agree, there is only a few of you that go vertical all the time. :D
Then there is the "bi" group, like me, that go both ways  ;) mostly horizontal, but occasionally vertical... :dex:

It appears we are neighbors. I think this is good because there is another firewood crazy guy nearby who likes chainsaws and small gas engines coupled with hydraulics and also likes Bourbon and Irish whiskey. My Wif will think this is bad because there is another firewood crazy guy nearby who likes chainsaws and small gas engines coupled with hydraulics and also likes Bourbon and Irish whiskey. If you've a mind to, shoot me a private message. I could give you my phone # and we could compare notes. At the least, if my Tree Service connection puts me onto more wood than I can handle, I could give you a shout. metalcuttr

I’d like to see some pics of that - I work for one of the biggest names in CNC plasma cutting.[/QUOTE]
Hi Shawn Curry , sorry I somehow missed your post. I have a hobby cnc plasma table. It is a Plasma Cam 4'x4' table coupled with a Hypertherm 1000 cutter. Do a lot of artwork and like that the best. Also constantly pestered by the local Jeeper and Rat Rod crowd. Do work for a local welding shop also. Keeps me in walking around money. Only work for people I like anymore and only if the job is interesting. It's just a hobby! metalcuttr

Nice! That’s a very popular setup, especially in the HVAC industry.

I hear you about keeping it a hobby - I feel the same way about my woodworking. I build some custom furniture and other things. But I still also work full time, and own a home with 14 acres of woods.

That would be fine although the whole shipping thing can get to be a pain. If you can ship smaller and flat and in a flat rate container then things are much better. metalcuttr

How much to ship me that saw?? :D That is so cool!

I work for Hypertherm, on the software side of things. So I don’t cut any metal myself, I tell computers to do it.

Ha! Thought it would be Hypertherm. You guys make great stuff! The saw is one I drew up myself, saw and all. It is similar to a single buck I have. I will cut a scene into an old saw if the owner insists, but prefer to cut the whole thing out of mild steel and save the antique. Too much of our old ways of life is disappearing. metalcuttr

That saw with the horses pulling the log is one of the most impressive works of art I've ever seen. Way to go metalcuttr !
