The power came back on between 3 - 4 in the morning which makes the smoke detectors beep a few times. I always check the oil in the generator after a use and before so last night about 9:10 pm I decided to double check the oil (it was good) by the time I came back in the house, the lights had flickered a few times and then the power went out at 9:14 pm. I went back out and I hooked up the genny, we watched a DVDand then called it a night. Some person was driving on route 56 just south of here when they hit a tree that came down, they were ok but I'm not sure about the car, if the tree was a hardwood tree then someone will burn it.

for over a week now we have had very nice weather, and its going on been up in the 70s.the royal wedding was good for them weather wise.
That front went through at 6:30 pm. Several downed trees and one house struck by lightning about a mile from here. Fire dept scanner was busy for quite a while.
Nasty looking! So far we received 0.85" of much needed rain and its still raining. These storms blew in really fast. I was thinning the forest where the kids target was that day as well as from there to well beyond the coop. Wind, then downpours with lightening. We ended up having 3 tornado warnings in the area. Flash flood watches posted now.
I just checked the weather radar and I didn't realize more rain is on the way. We could use a bit more as we are just starting to get into a drought. The FD dispatched a rescue boat for a kayaker that was out on a pond. The wind and lightning set in within minutes and they must have gotten overwhelmed out there.
That's tricky, been there done that! Buddy and I paddled pretty fast to an island and sought shelter under the kayaks when a severe storm flew in. Was scary stuff!
It looks like we could have some not so nice winds coming this way, I better check how much gas we have on hand for the generator.
