Son wanted me to come to his place this weekend to take care of a branch. He said it was pretty big. Ended up cutting the whole tree down. Rot had set in around six feet up. You can see the last of the stump behind him. So I got some unexpected Manitoba Maple to put with the rest of the wood I have in the old barn. Now I can split this up tomorrow morning while the wife and daughter are still sleeping because it's far enough away from the house that they won't hear it. I'll add the split and stacked pic here once I'm done.
That tree next to the house doesn't look so hot either...you said Manitoba Maple...is the another name for Box Elder?
Almost got <<triggered>> by the shirt in pic #1. Quick google image search shows that I actually endorse that particular shirt! This one is nice also...
He gave me the same shirt for an early Fathers Day present and when he held it out I was just ready to yell out obscenities and then saw the rest. LOL.
I don't know. I've seen people talk about box elder on here but have no idea what it might be. The tree left is leaning toward the neighbors property and I think it's right on the line. I told him yesterday to cut it if he wants but it's got a lean towards his deck.
I did a flower pot like that one time. After a couple years it started to crumble. So when I picked it up to get rid of it... I swear a 100 or more black widows started to scatter. I saw a few big females with white fuzzies on their backs. I never ran so fast to the garage to get any kind of killer spray and a large hammer for back-up. Here's a pic of one I killed near the garage.
That's what I did when I first scrolled down. .../scroll/scroll/....wait......WTF?! Surely not on FHC! >>google search. >>>figured out what the bottom of the shirt says. >>>all is well in this thread!
