Was about to fell the remainder of a topped oak a few weeks back and I threw a chain. Turn outs I lost my c-clip which lost the retaining washer. So I ordered the replacement, which I installed today. Except I didn't realize the needle bearing cage was missing... the bearings So back I go to the net... but I have to re-use the c-clip. Should I just go OEM and get the whole assembly, new sprocket etc? Aftermarket ok? Cry once or...
Some prefer the am bearings, as they have metal cages instead of the oem plastic cages. As far as the e-clip I have used them without issue and the drum is a judgment call, if it looks good run it.
I got antsy and bought an OEM needle cage/bearing only last night. Thanks, didn't think to ask you first.
