Another shower overnight. Won't be able to hoe for a while so garden work has to be put off. Might work on tearing down an old shed. There's always something that needs done. I'd like to get the shed down and then start working on getting ready to put up another barn.

Help Please? I'm trying to put a female end on this hose. I fought the collar on with pliers and a pipe wrench, plug is in now but I cannot get the collar back down. Any tips? (ya, tried to hold it with wrench and hammer it down with no luck.

I am assuming that the collar is the part that screws onto your faucet.
It looks like you have one of them hex hoses. I would take a utility knife, holding the blade at a 90 degree angle to the hose, and scape the ridges off. You have nothing to lose. You could try lubing the hose with dish soap to get the collar down, but that would only be temporary.
With a garden hose, you are not looking at a lot of pressure like you would on a hydraulic hose.

New pasture back at camp finished before the trim work on barn started. Almost an acre I guess. I put up 700’ of fencing on big cedar post.

Two big projects out of the way. What a relief!

Well, I'll sound off on one of them anyway!

Nothing but a finger or two if you aren't careful with that utility knife!

Thank you, my hands are pretty much useless for the rest of today to try to fight on it anymore, I'll try again on Friday with a utility knife. I tried heating with a lighter, then dish soap, then packed up and went to see if my elderly neighbor down the road was in his garage (usually is). He gave it a try himself without success and said it was the hex hose too.

 :rofl:  schlot ! And I'll dig through WWW's "tool tote" to see if I can locate my ergonomic female sized utility knife in there too, among the other of my hot pink Breast Cancer Awareness tools  :rofl:

I'm going grocery shopping with a friend tomorrow, I might just pick up a regular garden hose if they are not too over priced.

So my cousin was in Vegas recently.....

So she sees this older lady is looking to pay her hotel bill.....it was about 250 bucks.....she thinks that's a bit steep, she was only there to sleep. Employee explains the hotel has an Olympic swimming pool, and a bunch of other this and thats. She didn't want any of that, she just wanted a place to rest, so she wants to see the manager. Once again she explains she just wanted a place to rest, bill shouldn't be so expensive. Manager goes through the same spiel, swimming pool, this luxury, that amenity, this service. Standard and included in the price, even if you don't use it.
so she goes ahead ahead writes her check at that point, but it's only for 50 bucks. He informs her of the error as if she's misunderstanding the number, it's 250 bucks not 50. Old lady says she's charging him 200 bucks for sleeping with her. He protests that he did no such thing. Old lady says, yeah, but I was here and available if you wanted to....

she only paid the 50 bucks [IMG]

That's horrible that the starter only lasted that long. Well, unless he's put on 250k since last Fall.

I've never had issues like that, even with remanufactured non OEM parts.

Two different times over the last 20 years we had a remanufactured a/c condenser fail with in a week or so after the 30 day warranty expired.

Think it matters that he has a serious valve cover gasket leak on that side of the engine?
I mean both times that starter got changed, it was a slime fest!

Thanks. He’s a cute one, schlot.

The Vet did a Lyme disease test and it was negative. He could have gotten a false negative. Boomer had a fever and he was pretty stiff, so he prescribed doxycycline and steroids. Steroids for five days and the doxycycline for two weeks. If he is doing better by Friday, then we go to four weeks on the doxy, assuming it’s a tick borne disease. The Vet said there are many tick diseases that have popped up recently, and we may have one of the odd ones.

Thanks, Chaz. Wow, that’s one heck of a Vet bill. We got lucky and got out for under $200. I think we’ve spent close to $3000 in Vet bills in the past three months, though. Every one of our pets had issues.
