I was planning to do some firewood this weekend but ended up just sort of getting ready to do some. I have to reconfigure my firewood storage in preparation for my new pole barn. So I had to find a new home for 2 of my jumbo firewood pallets. I decided to put one of them next to the holz and I’m going to cut the other one in half and put it on the south side of the garage. I want to get a coat of stain on the garage this year too so I need to get that done before I stack any wood there. My wood shed needed a coat too, and Amy wanted to get that done first because she likes to use it as a front porch in the summertime.
I also took down a spruce that was going to be in the way of the pole barn - it was kind of in the way of all the firewood I need to process too.
Looking good Shawn, that barn will be nice! I spent all my money on siding, roof, & new splitter. Nothing to do now but work all Summer. No fun for me.
If life has taught me anything there are 17 things that need to be done before any intended work gets done Looking good Shawn
I actually did - there was just enough trunk there to do so, and it sorta puts me in my “comfort zone”. There wasn’t much of an escape route, so I wanted to make my cuts and then get out of there and pull it over. It is a lot, but I’ll be hiring a contractor to build the pole barn. Mostly what I’ve got to do is get that firewood and a few more trees out of the way. Hoping to get that done this month.
A shame to cut that spruce but understandable. You will be one happy camper when that pole barn is up!
