Seems like a perfect application for a huge biomass setup. Glad to see some schools thinking outside the box.
Schools have been doing that around here too. But the numbers don't seem that great to me. They are reporting a savings of 135k on a 3.7 million investment with no mention of labor. That's a 27 year simple payback. And I'd have to assume that labor operating costs are greater with a biomass boiler which would increase the payback. When I added a biomass boiler my simple payback was less than 3 years excluding labor to load the boiler.
