For the first time ever, we ran the air conditioner a couple of hours yesterday until a shower moved through and cooled things off. Might have to do that again today.

A high of 90 or above does not happen often here in the month of May but it is not unheard of. Still, it has been a long, long time since it happened last. Forecast 92 today but only 88 tomorrow.

Still hanging in the 50's here. Still a small fire in the stove.

There's some heat coming your way - didn't get here until afternoon today, but it was welcome after a chilly morning in the cemetery for observances.

Have not burned in a week. Mostly in the 70's and so far almost 6 inches of rain for the month of may. It has been a great month so far, all the farmers and ranchers around here are very happy.
Things are growing like crazy and very green. Wild flowers are also starting to show up everywhere. Simply beautiful and very busy.

Snapped a quick pic of what I had left of seasoned hardwood. There's another seven cord css, I really didn't want to get into.. Thankfully the endless winter actually did end, and I didn't have to tap into next season's reserves. :)

For sure no fires in stoves here and probably won't be until September. Supposed to be cooler today; only 88. So this year is the first time we've ever ran air conditioning in May and did it 2 days in a row. Ran it 3 or 4 hours one day and 5 or 6 hours yesterday. This is nuts!

Looking at the forecast they say we'll be back in the 60's by Saturday.

Don't know if I can pull that trick off again, but I'll give er a whirl! The liberal application of white pine as the hardwood started dwindling is what saved us. I've got a mountain of the stuff pretty much all bucked waiting to be split and stacked. Just need to finish the sugar maple pile first. Plenty to keep me busy this summer!

6 weeks ago it snowed on a Sunday , 80* on Wednesday and the heat hasn't let up yet!!!
Haven't had a fire since then . Put a bucket over the chimney and sky light covers on Sunday .
We've had a consistent E and North wind which usually brings cool dry and clear weather. It's been stifling hot here the last 5 days.
I moved our fire ring up behind the house where my heaphausen is . Since I may be moving this year I plan on making some wood disappear in the fire ring. Summers here!

For sure summer is here and we're really wanting it to cool off. This is too much like July and August to suit me.

Day started out to be a hot one again, but rain has moved in and cooled things down nicely.

Second major round of rain of the day right now.....

Not hot here yet either but very, very humid. Hoping that will decrease as the day wears on and it sounds as if it will. Really tired of this crap already. What happened to May? Even June? Why go into July and August so early?

Dennis we definitely need to work out a weather exchange program.

I would happily take some of that heat tonight. But you can keep the humidity.

    Oh almost forgot, Eucalyptus burning.
