Actually I think the one on the right may be ash. If it is, it may end up being lumber for my wood shed. It looks pretty straight. My buddy knows a guy with a wood mizer.

Yeah, about 1.5-2 weeks ago. 60 mph iirc. These were healthy trees, afaik. But I'll have to inspect the one on the right to determine what it is. I had figured both were basswood, but zoom in and it sure looks ashy. This is the second basswood that uprooted like that in about 2 years. They don't seem to have very strong roots. It might have toppled the ash, or whatever the other tree is when the basswood fell.

I have 2.5 more days of quiet in my neighborhood before the population jumps by at least a third when the cottage owners and friends show up for the summer.

so damm peaceful here 9 months out of the year.

I suppose I should pick up an M1 Garand for Clint Eastwood style lane protection.

2 more days of work until I get a 4 day weekend. Work has been pretty quiet lately, and I'm rather enjoying it. Travel looks light for the next few months too. Time to get caught up on some projects around the house.

Oh yeah, I too remember those times but usually not 4 days; only 3. Still, they were great except they went by so darned fast... Today, well, every day is a Holiday. Most times on national holidays we do try to stay off the roads, especially on that last day when folks are hurrying to get home.

We were usually on a 4-day work week by Memorial Day.

First cut of alfalfa getting baled across the road. Love that smell. Brings back memories.

One day its good and I stand straight, the next day is hunched over to relieve pain. Been that way for years. I can't tell if the chiro is helping or not; I don't think so.

    Thanks!

Well, here it is! Ordered from a company last summer/fall that I gave up on since the wood never showed up.

This load is from another company that I think just maybe we'll repeat business with them. Driver did a great job unloading/stacking.
