Finally yesterday after a terribly busy winter I got to get back in the woodpile at the house! :banana:I needed to move some wood around to make room for new racks, fill some racks for next year 17BF28F6-D857-41FA-9FF6-C9DD71695EB6.jpeg as well as split some cherry that I had from last thanksgiving Time! https://firewoodhoardersclub.com/forums/threads/aerial-cord-hoarding-and-a-pleasant-surprise.26453/:picard:
So I got one rack of wood moved and restacked last night( stack on left in the pic below). This morning I moved over another racks worth, 1AA2939C-0F69-4728-A3A4-3F1D57DC771B.jpeg then ended up stacking it and then moving one last racks worth and getting it stacked. Totaled just over a cord between the three racks A4797CED-89D3-4567-994D-D35E4BAD5DEA.jpeg After that I drug out the splitter and quick busted up and stacked the cherry (from the above linked post) to get it off my carry all where it’s been since last fall. Nice work J. Dirt. I'm digging the bracing from the horizontal to vertical 2X4's

The bottom pieces are 8’ crossarms I get from work like the ones on utility poles and the braces are actually steel braces that support the crossarms on a utility pole. I bolted the braces to the arm, then stapled a piece of threaded rod across the 2x4 uprights. At the bottom of the upright I put some bolts in and drilled into the end of the crossarm to act as sort of a pin. This way I can remove the ends and access the racks from the end instead of having to work only from the side. This was a big work saver to me since I could stack and use wood from any rack not just working from the outside stack in.
I’m going to be putting together a couple more racks to take the place of where I just moved some wood from and eliminate the pallets I had it on. Stay tuned......

Well here our 1100 sf ranch running full wood heat with the lopi insert uses roughly 3 cord or maybe 10 face cord on our worst winter. I’m sitting on close to 20 cord right now. Mostly burnable too! :D

Math was not your strong suit eh??
3 cord per year, 20 cord stacked.. equals how many years ahead??

    Just sayin' ;)

    But still.. 20 cord.. :jaw:

Looking good buddy! I, too, just recently got back going again on my woodpile. I've got at least 2, maybe almost 3 years worth of wood to split.....

    Nice work J. Dirt

Funny thing is that tractor is the wrong color and that perhaps is why you don't have a FEL to move those racks?!
