and it bit me in the butt this time. Had one rack with a little bit of a lean , storm came thru and ground softened up , gave the rack the helpnit needed to go ahead and fall. And of course domino effect !! Took out three total. Got it restacked and straight !!
I hate when stacks tip over. Grrrrr... Why are your uprights so tall? Sent from my SM-T280 using Tapatalk
Because 2x4’s are 8’ long ! I go through and cut them down later , juts haven’t gotten there in this spot yet.
Yours are stacked against the garage and you used a 60 foot long prop to brace it from falling...of coarse it's not falling over...
O believe me I’ve tipped a few and had a few tip on me.... It happenes! The plus is you can fix it without having to un stacking it all!!! Nice wood stacks!
These are actually pretty nice stacks, shame they took a tumble but looks good as new! What kinda wood is in the stacks?
Two stacks are mixed - oak , hickory , hackberry and elm ,one stack is straight hickory and the rest are oak. And I have to get these busted up tomorrow.
Oh yeah they will for sure , I have enough material to make 5 more stacks and I think I will fill up at least 4 with what I have cut and at the place now. Racks are cheap and easy , no tools and I get lumber for free from work and blocks are dollar culls at the block company in town.
I'm wondering if it might be a good idea to put a short plank (maybe a couple feet long) under those cement blocks to make them not so tippy?
I usually don’t have a problem. I had one stack with a lean already and I knew I needed to restack it. I could brace them but that adds time I spend with my weed eater and we don’t like each other.
