We had just a few sprinkles today. Just enough to coat the entire roads.....then it cleared up again for an hour or two.

We need it so it will green things up and also bring the rest of the frost out of the ground.

I didn't get many pictures before the rains started and then a unscheduled trip to town happened. I did more cleanup (three loads of branches not pictured) along with some smaller logs.

If it isn't too bad tomorrow, we want to start felling the final four trees with the first being the pine behind the first stack.

I had an appointment today which took up most of the day so we didn't get any work done but we'll get two pine on the ground tomorrow which will leave us with two more for Sunday. If I can get both pine out of the area the garage will go tomorrow then we'll do the last two on Saturday.

We took two more down today with most of the first tree gone and then felled the second tree later in the day, I'll get rid of the second one tomorrow.
The third picture (enlarged photo) is next on the list, either tomorrow or Sunday. 101_1378.JPG

Are you still set to break ground early May? Looks like you are pretty much ready for them.

The last time I talked with the contractor he said the end of April. I need to pull some stumps before anything starts so Sunday the backhoe goes on.

We took down the last pine in the area of the new garage build today, in pic 1378 & 1387 you can see the tree we felled today. We did the leader coming off the back first, pic 1389 and then we felled the rest of tree in the opposite direction.

I moved what crazy shaped pine logs that I cut to length with the Mahindra 4540, you can see in pic 1391 that the path to the log piles is taking a beating.

The area is a mess with all the dead pine branches so I'll be out there cleaning it up tomorrow even though they're calling for rain.

it sure does MikeInMa , we might drop two or three more but nothing like the cactus pine we've been dealing with. Two of the three we might bring down will get pushed to the back an I'll deal with them later.

I'm giving the neighbors up front until 10 this morning before I start the cleanup, hopefully by 5 this afternoon we'll have a chit load of branches and smaller sticks out of that area.

I can't wait to split some of that pine so it can season so I can burn a chit out of it. Thanks BigPapi , it will be nice once everything is done.

Every since we started the clearing it either snowed or rained except for about a four day stretch of nice weather. It rained all day today with it changing over to snow then back to rain, I worked from about 10:30 to 5:00 pm picking up limbs, branches and a log or two. After the work I get done tomorrow, you should see a big difference.

I did talk with the contractor today (he called) he had offered to dig the stumps out at no charge when we accepted his bid so I took him up on the offer. We still have a small cherry and about three pine we want down so I won't be holding him up.

I was going to do a before and after pic but it was so wet out that I put the camera away. Just a few pics of some of the stuff I did today.

I had about 10 -15 runs hauling branches and sticks with two bucket loads of rounds that was done after I took the pics.

The boots along with some other stuff are drying by the fire so tomorrow morning I'll start the cleaning up again with some dry boots and gloves.

We've received what I think is a half an inch of rain overnight so I'm giving the trail I take the branches on a break.

The trails won't be that much better tomorrow but maybe the rain will stop.
