speaking of new equipment, I got a 24" bar cover for my 590, those last few inches get hung up on stuff. Speaking of new equipment, looks like I'll be getting another new Fiskars Hookaroon. I wonder if I can still grind a point onto what's left First load of wood from the neighbors house. The guy with the saw that broke, butchered this tree, now I've got to get it down. This was more of a challenge than I expected. Nice straight felling cut... I ended up making a new one down where it was needed.
Finally down, I used wedges to push it where I wanted it, after I was done , I found out everyone around was watching, good thing it didn't fall on the neighbors house! Echo timberwolf ripped right through that trunk in Nothing flat Second load of rounds ready to roll, still got another one waiting there, then back to the monster maple
And my newest toy... er, tool, refurbished of off fleabay . I have all the missing parts at home on a dead 590, also bought on fleabay a few years ago. I only had to buy a clutch cover , which showed up at the same time. Piston , cylinder, and plug look brand new. This will be my 24" saw, and the other my 20" saw. Gonna sell the husky 460

Sort of firewood related, Saturday I added a back up camera to the van. Mostly because my 5' 2" 95 lb wife has a hard time seeing out the back, but also because it makes it easy to back up to the trailer without denting anything. camera goes on the license plate , I added a bracket so the camera didn't cover anything

The row in the back all came from the pile on the right, still got enough split to fill another rack They ran out of steam before they finished the other side of the rack, but I still have to build another one quickly!
I showed you a picture of my sister's wood boiler. That high wind did some damage, thankfully it missed the wood boiler, sap boilers, and the top that broke off only bounced off the front of the house . The wood shed will need some repairs, but it appears the garage roof survived
Hey Rowerwet , I was following this thread for the first 4 pages or so and lost track of it. This is amazing, I'm all caught up. I have only one question, when do you sleep and eat? I bow down to sir, you do us all proud. This has been an incredible 4 month journey, quite a pictoral of how it's done. Without having a truck no less. Thanks again! Oh yeah, your kids are awesome too.
If I can do this anyone healthy can. the one advantage I have is that I work my 40 hrs a week in four days. Leaving me a three day weekend every week . Even with my duties as a pastor I can put a day and a half or so each week into the wood when I need to. I'm also working extra hard on it now so I can avoid the hot weather. Luckily we're still in the transition to hot weather, son I have a few more good days left. The munchkins stacked another cord in the new rack. I still need to add the beams and roof to this one. The other side of the rack, and the corner of the tote that will be the roof. cutting the stumps off flush at the neighbors house

My Brazilian neighbors cut another tree and even bucked and stacked it. All I had to do was load the wood. They do want me to cut the stump flush
Off topic, but scroll on by if you don't like this. I'm an aircraft mechanic for a living, part of my job is traveling to other airports to fix my employers aircraft when they break. Wednesday I was in Burlington, VT and this WWII bomber pulled up next to our airplane. I love airplanes, been an airplane nut as far back as I can remember , getting paid to hang out at airports, going flying a few times a month on the clock, and even having some of our pilots let me fly the planes, it makes going to work fun. The B-25 is one of my favorite WWII bombers, famous for being used in the Dolittle raid on Japan. My favorite stories about the B-25 are what Pappy Gunn did with them in Australia, turning a conventional bomber into a flying tank, with six or eight 50 caliber machine guns in the nose, eventually another four mounted in blisters on the sides of the aircraft, and low level skip bombs, all controlled from the pilot seat. Men like this are the real reason WWII was won Pappy Gunn The true grandfather of the A-10 warthog! The plane is on it's way to Europe for a movie shoot.
Ground a new point onto the broken pickaroon, and I got my replacement from Fiskars , finally. Crazy busy at work for me the past few weeks . Spent three days in state College, PA, spent one afternoon riding a bike around the college campus. on the way home I stopped by What is often called Pennsylvania's grand Canyon.
Got home after a long drive and deceived I needed some exercise, so I took a walk around the city. Got these great shots of the sunset on the river.
Since I worked Monday, I left early Friday, my sister and her family were down from Lake Placid, I loaded up a pile of boats and headed to my parents. The beaver pond behind their house has dropped about a foot , leaving squishy muck where there was water. I had to improvise a pier with scrap wood, and use my parents old canoe as a float, so we could launch the boats. Apparently the beaver is letting the dam go... Probably my favorite thing in the whole world, watching my family enjoying the boats I've built.
