After 3 years of dealing with council we're finally building our home on our 20 acres. No access to the power grid or town water so we'll be completely off grid.
Lol. We started just before Christmas. Things will slow down now as I'll be doing most of the remaining work. We hope to be in by the end of the year.
Very nice! Long approval process huh? Glad you got it in the end! Will you be installing solar panels?
Bureaucracy must be served. Yes to solar panels. I've poured the slab for a small battery shed already.
got to love gov., took me 4 months to close o a home as each of the various departments only met once a month and course it it all had to go in the proper order -1 at a time
Slab for the small battery shed. It started to rain heavily just as I finished troweling which exposed all the aggregate. I was able to polish it up somewhat when the rain stopped.
This seasons haul. Another 16m3 (4.4cord) redy to split an stack. Big thanks to leoht and Mark for helping with collecting and bucking. My saw was in the shop.
Unless you have family over for an extended stay and they are full of chit. I'll be following along on this thread, especially when it comes to all the off grid/ your own services stuff. Have you done jobs like this before? Nice work so far! Another Aussie, friends with leoht
