Loaded up the camp site for an upcoming weekend trip. We Dirtbike, grill, cook, and occasionally have an adult beverage up here in the mountains of southern ohio. The wood stove is the original heat source from my house. Of course everyone says - why so much wood??
Nice! Is the wood for the inside stove or the fire pit.. Any campers? where do you sleep? I'm down in Southern Ohio also... Weather is finally looking up!
Wood is for inside and outside pit. I sleep in my tent and my riding buddy hangs a hammock in the shack. Yes! We may finally be in "spring". Lots of blowing snow this April...... been burning at home much longer than anticipated. Shown in the photos, there is ash, pine, green cherry (yes - it' green but it was easily acessable for collection), and a bit of safafrass. Speaking of safafrass - I love this tree! We have a bunch growing around our camp and I hope to be able to transplant some here at home. What a great species, between the used and the awesome smell of the wood burning!
Dirt biking in the woods with a little fire and BBQ sounds pretty good to me... Where abouts in Southern Ohio?
I don't recall ever knowing anyone that regretted having "too much" firewood in winter (or when heat is needed in general). Now.. run out of wood, then you have issues.
Heading down tomorrow after work. Low is 38. Of course I'm bringing lots of clothes but I'm sure I'll be in shorts
I only took minor body damage, some scratches and a small dent. (which is still there 8 years later, as a badge of honor), but may have declined the trip if I had seen the trails prior. I think I did really well at not tearing the truck up considering the trails. The rocks and holes and mud are one thing, but having tree branches and brush sticking out everywhere is no bueno when in daily driver. My skidplate after trip. That mud is about 3/4" thick. No Street Queen here!
