Dry Wood "IS" the Key

    I swept my chimney yesterday; as we've finally got some warmerish weather here in "The Peoples Republik".

    In all honesty; I couldn't believe how little soot/creosote I got!!!

    Went up on the roof, pulled the cap and brushed all the way down to the offset "back-to-back" 45's I have just out of the stove. I then went inside and removed some screws so I could clean the 45's.............twas amazed at how little soot/creosote was sitting on top of the baffle board of my Englander 13NC. Heck; most of what came out of the chimney was ash.

    Here's a picture of the total amount of "stuff" that came out of my chimney this year. As I've gotten further ahead on wood................chimney has gotten cleaner/less dirty from my heating season. IMG_1420.jpg

    Properly seasoned wood is the only kind to burn. :campfire:

    And beer is good too!:coldone:
