Monitor closely and be on the lookout for brown slimy roots. I bet you know that already, though........
Some of the seedlings are hitting the clear covers, do I just leave the covers off now? And yooperdave
Sounds like they are benefiting from the residual heat inside of the cover. Try putting a spacer between the cover and the planter?
I would take it off unless the house is wicked dry from a woodstove really cranking. Then you kinda need a makeshift greenhouse for moisture control but seedlings should be fine with more typical house humidity. Some people have a fan going to help the stems stiffen up and light so they don't get leggy. And talk to them a bit, calmly . I started a little later this year. Good thing maybe with this somewhat extended cold. Tomatoes outgrowing 3 ounce cups.
Thanks guys! Not the ideal environment here Wicked dry inside here (usually single digit humidity) and very warm in here. I'm going to prop the lids up like you suggested yoops, for humidity/water retention. And yes, they are getting leggy. I'm trying anyway!! !! I can't wait for those silly tire planters . They remind me of Alice in Wonderland. Would you water them from the bottom? My friend suggested using a spray bottle from the top (that would take forever....) ETA, I watered them from the bottom, will pour out the extra soon.
While plowing today, i needed to remove a boulder. So, i started digging around it to get under it better. Must have been an old shed there, because there's old wood underground. Very disappointed. Thought this was virgin ground, looking at maps, it was logged a little while ago, so i thought clean soil. Well, not in the plans, but need to get this old underground shed cleaned up. About 12x8x3' of material needs to come out. Chitty!
Got 10 Rhubarb put into the garden last night. Can’t seem to keep them alive for more than 3 or 4 years.... So going to try the actual garden this time...
My rhubarb is up. Been planted for four years. Nice long thick stalks last year. They clumps are in my sun perrinial bed, and get surrounded by compost every fall. Sent from my SM-T280 using Tapatalk
These were a pack of "free seeds for children" from the nursery we went to in Colorado a month or so ago. The tag was long gone by the time we got home, suppose pumpkin? Leggy and falling over bad or on purpose? Maybe I should get one of the new polk a dot planters going this weekend and let them lay? Ideas appreciated Thanks!! Just loud enough and fun enough that I happen to REALLY like them
