Hi There, I have an Enviro EF3 that I just replaced the copper bushing as it was defective. But while I had it apart and have been watching it, I noticed another issue we have been having for some time. The auger will turn as usual for its 3 seconds and stop, then on occasion it will only turn for one second and stop, until it gets about 1/3 around then it starts up again back to 3 seconds turn. It is never in the same place, and it can be 20 minutes before this happens, also my dial-a-fire test's OK. I am wondering if it is the Auger timing control doing this? It works OK if we leave the dial-a-fire at 2/3 setting, just that the fire height will change on occasion. I have also replaced the motor, same issue. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem?
If your auger shaft is 3/4” in diameter then I would put in the upgraded Nylatron Bearing & End plate. PP4010. The bearing is permanently lubricated and works much bette than the bronze oillite bearing. Dr Whitfield sent out a tech bulletin years ago to all his dealers and told them to do it right away!! Maybe he knew something? LOL
