    Poplar isn't that bad. It dries quickly. But yes, it burns quickly too. I'd be super happy with a few splits of 1 yr css poplar right now.

    Yep, definitely shoulder popple....thankfully after it dries, not shoulder popping....decent shoulder season heat:yes:

    Poplar it is, I just picked up a 1/3 of a truckload at a friends house last week. I'm short on shoulder season wood, it will do just fine!

    Poplar is good fire starter. Burns too quick to burn for heat

    For sure popple. Will dry fast and will burn fast but still can make good shoulder season wood. We've always called it gopher wood. Throw some in the stove and then go fer more.

    Poplar. Nice to get your fire going- I like a piece of it in the middle of oak or other hardwood, and light a crumpled newspaper under it. It catches great, kind of set and forget. A big fire of poplar though, wouldn’t last too long.
