Two nuns were shopping at a 7-11 store. As they passed by the beer cooler, one nun said to the other, "wouldn't a nice cool beer or two taste wonderful on a hot summer evening?"

The second nun answered, "indeed it would, sister, but i would not feel comfortable buying beer, since i am certain it would cause a scene at the checkout stand."

"I can handle that without a problem," the other nun replied, and she picked up a six-pack and headed for the check-out.

The cashier had a surprised look on his face when the two nuns arrived with a six-pack of beer. "we use beer for washing our hair" the nun said, "back at our nunnery, we call it catholic shampoo .

Without blinking an eye, the cashier reached under the counter. Pulled out a package of pretzels, and placed them in the bag with the beer.

He then looked the nun straight in the eye, smiled, and said: "the curlers are on the house."

I went to St. Joseph's grade school for 8 years in the 1950's. We were rough little farm brats and needed the snot slapped out of us every once in awhile. I remember one day one of the more feral boys gave Sister Amobylis the finger in class. She stared at him... then came stomping down the aisle, grabbed him by the shirt collar and dragged him out of class. Later they returned. She'd put the offending hand into a shoebox and mixed some plaster of paris and entombed his hand in that shoebox. He had to carry that club around the rest of the day. After school he was banging it against the school steps, knocking the plaster off his hand. We thought it was hilarious. His mom either thought he deserved it or never heard about it. But the discipline worked--we went into High School a year ahead of the public school kids in math, science, reading, etc. I miss those tough Catholic nuns.

Oh yes. The discipline has changed drastically over the years.

I was watching Live PD a few weeks back, they arrested a grandfather who grabbed his granddaughter to keep her from running away. He slightly injured her to keep her alive!

I saw that. The police should have taken that into consideration, instead they went with the letter of the law. I like Live PD about the best of most shows. I watch Cops now and then, but don't like having to sift through the reruns. I record all my shows to the DVR so I can skip the ads.
