Looks like no rain for our walk this morning. campinspecter got to watch two curling games yesterday as the Blue Jays got rained out. He had two lines full of clothes outside that actually dried with the nice weather we had. I took Mom shopping and did some house chores for her. It was a nice visit.

Back to work this week. Short week as we have a trip planned down island for vet apt. Just a general health check for the dogs.

Got a good coating during the night and this a.m.. Temp has now risen to 33 and steady rain. Supposed to rain all day into tonight when it turns back to snow and we get a couple of inches overnight. And then..................supposedly that is the end of chitty winter weather..........................We shall see.

What a weekend! Snow, sleet and freezing rain. A little bit of it has melted but not enough to suit me. Lots of the ice has fallen off the trees, some of it right down the back of my neck too... Was outside for a bit and about froze;mostly due to it being so damp.

Here are some pictures of the Mackinaw Bridge, taken this morning. It had been closed for a while but was able to reopen early this morning (around 8:30). But what a difference in the pictures within just a couple of hours. This is what northern MI is like a lot of the time though and for wind, April can be the worst month.

All these pictures were taken from the north side except for the last one which was taken in Mackinaw City, which really is not a city at all; just a village. But that last picture is right where you are at the start of the bridge.

Thanks WW but we've already ordered one of the big ones that will be set up for automatic. I'm really thinking about Judy on this because she would really struggle getting things hooked up and even putting gas in the generator. We do already have a rather large generator but sometimes even I struggle with it, like this past weekend. Had to get a neighbor to come start it after I screwed up my back trying to start it.

New door knobs and dead bolts ordered and on the way for my neighbor, all the same key. It can't be that hard to do, just a few screws, right? I haven't replaced one personally in like 20 years.

Still got house number ?? If at apartments I will give you cell.. A longer screwdriver is helpful to get past doorknob at least 6 inch before handle so you don't strip screws..

I was off today for Patriots Day and took the kids to a wood-fired oven restaurant for lunch. It poured all day, but it was
toasty dry in the restaurant. The restaurant is in an old factory with high ceilings and massive beams.

We had a cheese pizza and a Kahula pork and pineapple pizza with a nice bbq sauce on it. It was cooked very nicely with a slight crunch, nice chew and the bottom was nicely cooked. From what I could tell, all wood fired oven. It was hand made and cob covered. It has to be about 12 feet wide, central fire and my oven could fit in the door.o_O
