I'm 10% SC for that. Best way for me to handle it is to have some "white noise" when I try to sleep. for me that would be my Bi pap machine.

These buildings are 25+ years old. This was the worst blizzard in 100+ years. We don't normally get 24" of snow.

curious, The lady in the lab at va said that hearing aids would not help my tinnitus, But I have to wonder why not? I have read that they can make them with some distracting noise that takes the attention off the high pitch of the ear ringing. I have had to deal with it longer than I have not. You know what it is like.

True. My routine for the 5 seasons we've had it is every 4 weeks on a Sunday, do a good cleaning. Takes about 20 min max , a bit longer if I pull covers off and vac out fines box, squirrel cage on motor, etc.

    Definitely hard to like.

BUT I notice that the trees are not loaded down which does help on the power side of things.

    dammnn......be safe up there smokes!

Yup, engineering might not fail, but material failures are pretty common.....or modifications after the engineering was done, or poor practice of subs after the engineered components were installed.....Ive seen a plumber of HVAC "modify" roof trusses or wood I joists to the point of failure.......

Anyhow, going to the Caribbean Wednesday! Its 78 there right now, at 6:45 am

Working from home today. They just plowed the roads and they still look very slick from all the sleet. Supposed to get up to 60 mph winds today. Stupid me, I left the tent garage door rolled up all weekend. Nowe between the thawing ground and the ice load on the roof, I can't zip it up. May have a flyaway garage at some point. It is well racheted into the ground, but that don't mean chit if the covers start ripping up.

Wow Smoke that is some crazy shirt for this time of the year, actually sounds like any time of the year where you reside. Hopefully some warm weather coming your way and the result wont be instant as in flooding following the snow. Good luck man

Your exactly right LW at the residential level MEP trades just want to get their chite installed and if its on a Friday or in some cases a Monday they have little care about what effects their hacking away to get it installed has on structural components. Less of a problem in commercial with the inspection process required and the presence of structural engineers walking the site looking for exactly this, with that said it does happen and probably way to often but between the Super, structural engineer, architect it will be recorded as a non-conformance item and must be corrected.

I would like to be the first on record to nominate this pic for the 2019 FHC calendar! Of course, it would have to be for the month of April and with the heading of something like.."Are you done burning yet?"

Hows about it Grizzly Adam ? :D

I can tell you that the first time the masking noise was set-up on my hearing aids, they kept asking "How's that? Can you still hear the ringing?".....and would try adjusting it greater once again. After about 5-6 attempts, I asked and they told me they had never had to set the masking noise so loud......:picard:

Crazy crap 2 - 3"" of sleet on the ground, looks like snow cone ice. No plow running around here which seems odd but who knows with the time of the year and doubting they expected the sleet to accumulate as much as it did. Just have to wait for the warm temps to take care of it .

Working from home as well as its a holiday for the union trades just have to get the stupid schedule updates done then the rest of the day nursing my silly shoulder, grabbed a sling from CVS to see if it helps . Been hitting the pain meds to ease off some of the annoyance but have to get the updates done this morning and return to work tomorrow so no meds today or tonight .

Seriously thinking of walking into the ER but would probably get whacked with some kind of bill, but getting to the point I really don't care there is no way I am waiting until this coming Friday to see a Physical Therapist .
