Over Easter I was at the in-laws farm CSSing at the abandoned house they own across the road. Over the years I've noticed a large Walnut tree on the corner of the driveway slowly decline. I would have really liked to drop it, but I don't think I could have done it without taking out the power line from the barn to the house (why it still has power, that's another story!). So I tell my mother in law about and she says she will get a professional out to get it down.

Well my wife gets a text today. The walnut tree blow over in the storm and took out the power line!:doh:i hope they don't pay to get the line fixed! She said the tree is not in the way of anything so it should be there the next time we get there. Can't wait to CSS and burn it. I'll post some pics of the process

Hope all goes well for you with the processing. Of course...make sure that line is dead.(you know that)

Any diameter estimates until we see the pics?

yes, the power line will definitely be dead! wouldn't want to end up like this :hair::hair:

I estimate the diameter at around 25-28" I don't think I will have a problem getting through the trunk with a 32" bar. I like bucking the big rounds, I just hope there is not to much rot in it!

We don't get to the farm much this time of year due to the kids being extremely busy with baseball and softball. could be a few months before I get pics! well I guess the tree's not going to get up and walk away! It'll be there when we get there.
