Took the 261 ice fishing. We did not catch any rainbows. Had a good time. B2581E7F-FC04-43AE-A92D-933DD9EBFE7A.jpeg

    Partial family photo

    Back row L to R - XP1000,XP1020,Super 1050 Automatic (All 6.11 cube/100cc,XP's produced from 1965 to 1968,1050 from 1969 to mid 70's)
Middle Super 1130G (100cc gear drive produced from 1969 to 1972),2000 Automatic (7 cube/114cc beast produced from 1968 to 1970) Restored quite scarce 2100 Special (7 cube produced from 1970-72)
Front - Very rare 3100G gear drive beast, same 7 cube engine as others, barely produced a year from late 1970 to early 1972.The last of the big brutish gear drive designs. When it was introduced, it was intended for a very specialized, dwindling market. Not many were sold.
It was meant to run LONG bars cutting BIG wood (mostly in the Pacific Northwest). Nothing else.

2nd photo is my XP1100,its the gear drive cousin to the XP1000.Same vintage & displacement.Forgot to drag it outta the shed for this,I found a separate previous pic.

Took out an early XL-130 that I tore down recently. Top end was roached a bit. I've run worse. It cleaned up okay. It is a Homelite. Still pulls like a tank.

For kicks. Running the blasted semi-chisel it came with and the original set of points I had to file down to nothing. Cutting too deep and pinching a tad as the top was under a lot of compression. Too busy looking at chips piling up at my feet I guess. Camera pretty close on the first cut, but it captures the sound just fine.

I like all the saws I have , the little Kita cut 95% of today's load including that 16" yellow birch until

So I grabbed the 026 to finish blocking it up

And that was all good till I found that moss covered rock then I finished the last couple of cuts with the 241 .

It was still a great day :)
I like all my saws lol
