I recommend making a table to catch the splits. That way you just slide around the large chucks and don't have to pick them up.
Havissue, been thinking about that a while now,I will have to extend hitch or make it removable, how is yours attached?
I'll take a picture for you later-it's hard to explain but it removes really easily. I just pop it off when I need to use the hitch. It makes splitting much easier.
Hopefully this makes sense. I added a bar to each side, a rest in the front and the table hooks in. It takes seconds to pop on and off but is very stable.
Oh I forgot ,nice job on table I do have table to keep it from falling on ground, pull pin and slide it forward or remove also drilled a series of 3/4 holes in Beame so when I’m splitting shorter wood I drop a bolt and it stops ram from going all the way back but like yours better
Very nice. The only other thing I would suggest is something to catch large rounds on the opposite side of the lift if that makes sense. Once you have a log lift it is hard to go back to using a splitter without.
I tried horizontal splitting and my back can't take it. After having a log lift and table I would ever split any other way.
