    Someone posted about a blowdown piece of oak, which we don't see too often. I don't really need any more wood...but it's oak.

    Went with a buddy who took a few logs. Also snagged a couple pieces of birch.

    I would take that in a heartbeat and justify that it would heat my home for 3 days in the middle of winter... :)

    I needed the exercise. The wood is just a bonus. I look at it that way.

    Seriously i'm an urban setting so not much room in the yard. But...couldn't pass up oak.

    I have a huge blow-down white oak, that I have been working on occasionally, somewhat like a seagull on a beached whale carcass.
