Spent the last couple of weekends playing around. Done with tarps and sleds during the winter. This should hold just shy of 2 cords, which is my avg/winter. Thinking ofputting a 2x10 across the front of the rafters and making one of those tarp pulley roll uo doors. Demensions are 5x10 with a height of 5ft in the back to 6.5 in the front Enough for 3 rows of wood with a littlr space between rows. Wood is fairly dry before it gets here sitting for 2 summers stacked in rows. Then the final summer in here. 20180407_164153.jpg 20180407_164041.jpg 20180329_143909.jpg

That's really nice. I'm finally going to get started on my shed too. Mine will be a 3 bay 15 total cord one though. That would provide me 3 seasons of wood and I can rotate the open bay. By the time I get to the end of a season, I could start filling it again for 3 winters later. Then go onto the next bay for the next heating season.

I like the way you elevated the floor and kept gaps between the planking for air flow. Nice job.

Very nice looking shed! I like the airflow and the translucent roof for a little extra sunshine. That’ll help finish drying anything that might need some help.

    Nice shed!

I don’t think you have to worry about covering the front. Just keeping most of the rain and melting snow off of it for the last few weeks prior to burning works great. That’s basically the type of system I’ve been using for the past 4 years.

The seasoning stacks remain outside in the elements, usually without top cover. Then when burning season starts, all the furniture on my covered front porch goes into storage, and we stock it with wood. We usually try to pick a late fall dry spell to move the first of it. But as the season wears on, sometimes when we restock, the top layer from the seasoning stacks will be a little wet. But after a few days on the porch, it’s good to go again.

Hope the roof holds up to those occasional snow loads you get down there in the "banana belt".

Nice job fitting it into the space you have for it!

Madtown I like the basic design of the shed that still allows for some air flow. Nice. As for the covering on the front I doubt it is needed for the wood but if you want it just to make things look nicer that would work well.

I am surprised you only burn around 2 cord of wood there.

Another vote to leave the front open. No tarps, you just eliminated then for a reason!

    Good looking shed for sure.
