Not gonna make 4/21

Had to top off with some blow down ash today, much colder spring this year here! But 4/21 still the planned fill up of lean-to and shut down furnace day!

 

Nice lean to! How many cords does it hold?

With the weather we are having there's no way I will be shooting down by 4/21! I've burned the same amount of wood in March/April as I do in December!

 

Holds about 17. Will probably have 10 days worth of scraps to burn after fill up day, so maybe will go til May. Still getting to freezing here most nights

 

Typo, it’s 32x8x7.5 so it’ll hold about 15 at that heights

 

A good day here is when it gets above freezing!

Probably be shut down by the end of the month anyway.....

 

Fire off fire on here...It goes down to low 20's at night and up to 40 during day....

 

No shut down in sight here either, and looking almost as thin for this year's supply! We've finally lost enough snow pack that I can supplement with uglies that were previously buried.

 

I have a week off of burning because we'll be on vacation. Even after that, I should have about a week of nightly fires. With this year's stash at least.

If I had to, I could either borrow from next year's shoulder season wood, or cut some dead standing elm.

Hopefully when I get back from vacation it will be warm enough to not need fires more than a week at nights. Not likely i'm sure.

 

Same here ladies and gents, gonna be in 20's tonight-I've burned more this season, (heck I dont even know what season it it) than I can recall...I avg 3.5 cord per year, now kissing 5! Near 70* here yesterday, 35 last night, snowed today

 

Brought about 2/3 of a cord in this afternoon.
Looks like winter is hanging on till the bitter end.

I think I burned about 4 cords so far this year.

 

Snowed some yesterday and another dusting tomorrow. I think we were around 17 degrees this morning. Think I'll bring a few more wheelbarrow loads up tomorrow. Not worried and should still end up with a little of my mulberry that was split/stacked Nov. 13. Best guess is 2.5 cords since the IS seems to need less wood to stay warm.
Not a fan of deep winter and hate the summer heat but love this weather.

 

Normally burn around 3 cords a year. Well into 6 cords if not starting on the 7th cord. Brought 1/4 cord up to the house today. Where will it ever end?

 

IS. Ordered up an IS and changed it to an AS today. Hope I get the same results.

 

You need another load of those cutting boards you had before.

 

I'm still burning enough to keep the basement warm for the cat. If I've managed to bring wood in from the stacks, I'm burning long-dead oak, but if it's raining, I raid the pine and poplar fireplace wood on the porch. I can keep this up for the rest of April anyway.
