Glad it wasn't any more serious. Any time this happens, your muscles react to attempt a save. That's the strain. Last time I almost fell, I twisted and pulled a muscle in my side. Hurt for 3 days. I like the "trying to sit still and look busy". Some kind of oxymoron, methinks. Only Sheldon can do that. Now, go sit down and try to look like you're resting. That's easier.
Ha! That did sound bad didn't it?!?! I meant at my desk, I found lots of stuff to look at on the internet today and none of it had anything to do with programming the CMM for work
I might have to get used to this, I get to chill on the couch and talk to you fine people while my Hubby is cooking me stir fry and my kids are picking up the living room.
Feel better, stay to heck off the ice. Keep a sand/salt bucket by the door and throw some out if you can't be sure. I was told to wear cleats, but to be honest, I seldom think to put them on, and I sure have my share of bad falls.
That will be Friday afternoon. Had labs and a cardiac ethogram today. Still have a brace and walk with a cane and pain. Can't put my socks on. At least I can use the shower. Even though I don't do anything, my day doesn't start off well until I have my shower and coffee.
I've done a couple figure skating impressions over the years. Last year I slipped on ice in the driveway while carrying an arm load of firewood into the garage. Splits flew everywhere, I landed on my rear end. That wasn't so bad. Just a sore behind. A couple years ago I slipped while carrying a bag of pellets into the garage. That was worse. I didn't fall but instead twisted myself trying to keep upright and wrenched my back pretty good. I wasn't moving too good that week. No serious falls this season, but I did slip when walking into a gas station in December. Good thing that wire rack of potato chips was right inside the door. I grabbed the rack to keep from falling. The snacks didn't fare so well. Get better Sarah and Larry.
My little man just sits on the floor next to me, makes this face and says "Momma if I make you laugh you will feel better!" Yes, Peanut, you certainly make me feel better.
I didn't think it was possible but this thing is actually worse today. I am stuck on the couch doing nothing and I can't stand it. I'm bored, I can't stand sitting around. Good thing for the meds or I would be done for
I think this is good advice… get used to it, stay calm, move little, and you'll heal maybe twice as fast. If you moved around a lot today, could be why it's a little worse now. I know what you're talking about… drives me nuts too when I take a flop, but, gotta do it. Stop motion… heal.
damm Ice !! I fell the day after Christmas. Hit my head and right side pretty hard. Everything is better but my shoulder. Heading to the ortho next week and hopefully just getting a cortisone shot. Always feels worse the day after. Hope you feel better soon !! Rest Rest Rest......
