It's going to be a while before I get any firewood work done. We had rain all last week then a couple inches of snow Sunday night and a total deluge last night. I've lived here 39 years and I've only seen it like this 2 or 3 other times. My house and shop are high and dry so it's mainly an inconvenience but I have a decent size sugar that's bucked on the other side of the creek I need to get hauled up before the weeds and briars take off and the only way to it is to cross the creek. I had about a third of a face cord coversed to finish the year and it looks like the water got up to the stack. Oh well, I have plenty of propane.
Wow, green grass, none here. Looks you sure gotta a lotta water there bang, hope the tide goes out soon so you can get back to your Maple needing rescue.
I'm still waiting waiting for the last 4" of snow to melt so I can pull the splitter out and start moving it to where it is needed.
Yep we had that nice weather in March and come April it turned back to winter. I think April fools this year came from the weather. That is a lot of water. I hope the wind stays down or you could be cutting up some trees you did not intend to do.
Snow starting here in 5 minutes. According to Accuweather. Radar looks like they are correct. Argh. Just about got the last 15 incher melted off. Now 1-8 possible. Really ready for summer fun! Morels eh! Can't wait. Now I'am thinkin.... Hmmmm. May have to go south for the early guys...
bang it looks like you are getting the type of weather we had last year. So far this year it is really dry here. I hope it stays dry too.
Got about 3" or so if snow here and doesn't look like it will melt for a week or so! Old man winter just won't let go! I'm usually doing yard work this time of year... This year I'm still just hauling wood in, and burning 24-7 and it's not shoulder wood!
Bang, hope all is good with you, heard of tornadoes down in Southern Indiana. We had terrible winds and a lot of rain. Is snowing now but is not sticking.
We got around 7 inches of snow yesterday. It was the biggest snow storm of this entire winter. Snow blower decided to die so I ended up shoveling most of my driveway by hand. Snow blower is close to 30 years old so I may think of buying a new one, don't know if it pays to sink a lot of dollars in an old machine.. Pics are what I woke up to today.
We had heavy rain yesterday and last night...plenty of flooding...high winds started last night and continued today. Now the temp is dropping and the snow is coming tonight. The crazy thing is the grass is getting green and starting to grow
Yeah, I was all happy to have 6 cords stacked for next winter, blew through one in March. Hmm, we'll April we should be done, nope, almost a half cord down and still cold...
30 years old? Sir you should have a proper service & burial including a nice headstone for the old gal.
