Start a thread they said. It will be fun they said. Heres goes 2nd year dealing with more slab than anyone could possibly want, but free wood is the best wood.
Who gave you this slab? What kind of slab is it? Where is the slab, and where's it going? Why so much slab? When will you answer all our slab questions?????
Lol. Golf course 1/2 mile from me had mature trees logged out of the undeveloped acreage. All hardwoods, majority oak, but it's a real mixed bag. No pine at all. They had about 10 or so giant piles. One pile takes about 12 loads like the gooseneck above has on it to move. Some comes to my place, most goes another mile down the road to my buddy's outdoor boiler. It's all been down about about 3 years now, but was stacked tightly and still good, some still too green even.
Oh boy, diesels and trailers and slab oh my! You've got your work cut out for you. No splitting necessary.
Should be some good burning wood once split and stacked to dry out. I would sure be all over that. Congrats on getting that.
Welcome to the forum dwyleecoyote Indeed that is a lot of slabs and those are best cut up with the buzz saw.
