I'm sure many of you Harman owners already know this, but I found it today... Have been experiencing some lazy flame action lately.. I know one thing to check, is maybe the door gasket is leaking... So I did the dollar bill test, and sure enough it was not really 'snug'... looking at the gasket.. it seemed to 'look' good, was not flat, nor was it brittle.. I was convinced that it was not so bad it had to be replaced. So I looked at tightening up the latch mechanism.. I thought maybe I could shim something, or bend something.. SURE ENOUGH! the latch on the stove, not the door, is actually adjustable... So I tweeked it in maybe a 1/32nd of an inch, and presto... NO slippage on the dollar bill... Just though I'd pass that on to the ones that did not know this little trick... Dan ( was going to put this on the 'what's up' page.. but thought it would get moved to here!)
Nice quick fix Pete Zahria Wishing I had adjustability on my pellet stove door latch. Almost typed “wishing I had adjustability on my latch” - I know better tho.... There’s always a yooperdave or a brenndatomu lurking about
It is extremely easy to see... Look into the pocket that the door latch goes into. There is one bolt on the inside of the pocket to loosen, and one in the stove box. I scratched where the bracket was, before loosening, so that you can see how far you move it.. just move it a tad, then retighten the two bolts. Dan Tight seal..
