Ahh, A foot of snow on the ground and killing some maples. Finally gave the husky 55 my Dad gave me a tune up. He built an apartment for him and my mother at my sisters down the road so he no longer needed it. Saw is 21 years old, cleared his land and made cordwood to heat his house for twenty years. Other than breaking the pull cord she ran great. Feels alot lighter than my 455. Awesome day out in the woods.
I'm leery of doing much of any cutting in the snow. I have no PPE other than safety glasses and steel toed boots. One slip.. not how I want my day to go. Glad you enjoyed the day outdoors. I just moved wood around, and walked with the dog. Still very enjoyable.
Woodwhore, nothing like being out on your own property cutting down tree's and looking over some more potential tree's. And that snow keeps the BEERS cold. Dad's saw will always have a special place in your shop
Yes i agree, i had my chainsaw pants on and steel toes, its kinda second nature for me, im used to running a saw at night with just a headlamp in storms, up in a tree, deep snow terrential rain. However even with all that saw time you still have to be very careful. I know cuz i broke my leg in yhe snow when i got it caught between two big chunks of ice. My body went one way and the leg didnt. Do what your comfotable with. Thanks
