What's up today (bullchiting) thread.

Caffeine and breakfast with my Dad this morning. He is doing okay today. Later this morning, after my Mom gets up, I’ll go home and will be bringing some more firewood into the basement, starting to get low on the BTU supply. Then doing a little chainsaw work if it’s not snowing too much. And do a little house work for my wife who will be at work.

 

You are a awesome son, Gas. Glad to hear Dad is doing okay today.

 

Thanks Rottiman. We have been fortunate to have good parents. And now our parents are fortunate to have so many of us around to help out. 7 out of 9 of us live here. Each one of us children that live close by take a morning from 5:30-8am. Some take two. Let’s my Mom sleep in and get plenty of rest she needs.

I also found a part time nurse, made the arrangements and meetings with parents, and he started last week. Three visits done already. He is a nice guy in his late 50s, comes in three afternoons for 3 hours to hang out with my Dad while my Mom gets out of the house and does some things she wants to do. She needs the breaks. Took a while to convince her to accept someone coming in, but I think it is going to work out well.

 

Warm this morning. 46F/8C no rain but lots of wind. Really nice walk.

Hardest part I bet was convincing your Mom that she needed to take care of herself as well as your Dad. Caregivers usually end up in poor health because of their stubbornness. I am glad you were able to convince her.

Hopefully this will go well. And, if needed, those hours can increase. Another brother found a cleaning lady to come in about 1-1/2 years back. Once a week for three hours. They have a fairly big house.

 

He's the only grandchild, so he'll have a lot on his plate. Wood stacking in his future this summer.

 

The sun was out earlier??? Haven't had more than 100 yards visibility all day here.

 

Bored bored bored! Stuck inside, no work because all my customers were closed today. I did some training this morning, then did a quote and entered one order. About 70 minutes of work.

I did take a nap though!

Well, it's beer o'clock finally.

 

Snow squalls moving through. Goes from no snow, to sideways whiteout in about 30 seconds, last 2 minutes, then nothing again.

 

I've been eyeing a bottle of good bourbon for after the bored little terror goes to bed.

 

Atv parts ordered and already shipped out from MN.

Now headed up to the reloading room to make some dummy rounds for next month's pistol classes (ball and dummy drill). The students never seem to return them all, which I guess means they like the drill enough to practice at home or the range.

 

Sounds like a typical winter day

 

I made Hot and Spicy Tacos for dinner, done and down the hatch. I behaved myself and only had three. I wanted three more but need to lose a few pounds.
