The past week has been insane in the Northeast. I've been on generator power seven of the past nine days. The first storm dropped a standing dead White Ash down the driveway taking out the Monte Carlo, raking the house siding & trim, blowing out the screen porch, , and worst of all damaging the wood stove chimney pipe. It's my failure not dropping that White Ash last year and it has an equal evil twin still standing right behind it. The tree crown detonated when it landed. The base took out my active garlic and lettuce garden. To make matters worse, it is twisted with 3" poison ivy vines which threw up sap all over the place including my body...nasty. The past storm was absolutely surreal here. Many evergreens just folded over but enough hard wood trees crashed to confirm the impact that wet heavy, very heavy snow can do. No issues scrounging for the next few months. I have the white ash obviously, a white oak on the other side of the street, and if someone can confirm the ID of what the tree I'm bucking with the brownish pith is. It looks like a pig nut hickory. Thanks, Jim.

Mayhem! I hope you were able to use your stove! I tangled with poison ivy vines on an ash once, wound up on prednisone.

That's an ugly mess. Not sure of the wood species though. I don't recognize it.

What a mess! Sorry to see all your damage. Hang on, we got another one coming! Lots of heavy snow damage in southern and coastal Maine too with more to come tomorrow. I hope everyone has their power back on before it hits. I’m hearing this one won’t be as wet and heavy but will still be over a foot of snow with high winds.
    Good luck with your cleanup.

Hope your clean up goes well. Glad you have a generator to keep you going. We would be in a pile of trouble without one. That’s a heck of a storm. More on its way to us tomorrow. Winter just doesn’t want to give up!

What an awful situation. While that storm hit us, it wasn't severe enough to knock over many tree's. Good luck with the claims and clean ups.

That did some terrible damage. Glad you have a generator but that also had to cost you a bundle putting gas through it.

Good luck on getting through this next storm.

That tree you are cutting up almost looks like cherry with the scally looking bark. You certainly have your work cut out for you. Good luck with it all.

Wow!:bug:Sorry to hear about the damage. I wish you and your family the best. If I were closer I'd lend a hand but it's a tad far from Kentucky. Here's hoping #3 misses you':salute:

What you need to do is spend a bunch of money on an automatic whole home generator...then your power will never go out again. That's what I did.

Sorry to hear about all the damage to your place and your car to boot.
Insurance claims rep's must be having as much business as the power crews with these past storms.

Hope things mellow out your way, sounds like you could use the break.
