Looks like we are out until tomorrow. A substation that feeds the majority of this city is down. It is just about pitch black around here. We are lucky we have our woodstove. It is very toasty here and we are fortunate to be comfortable.
I can't imagine being dependent on a boiler or furnace in times like this! I'm doing a 24 hr burn of dimensional oak. Not toasty, but quite comfortable at 71 downstairs. Two blankets on the bed, I'll reload in the morning.
this generator came with the house. I hate it, but it does the job. I've been saying that I want to buy a 5000 watt pure sine wave invertor for a while. I have access to tons of backup batteries at work, but the invertors are expensive!
It looks like we might get 4-8 inches from this new storm which isn't much compared to what some along the coast are going to get.
I'm seeing forecasts of possibly 12+ inches of snow here. Starting pre-dawn Tuesday, going for 24-36 hrs. Needing to refill deck wood rack and top off the snowblower tomorrow. Game on! Sent from my SM-T280 using Tapatalk
Plenty of fuel! It's parked by the coop I've been building- bucket full of tools for a quick finish up tomorrow before the storm gets here. I'm planning on creating a thread in a week when I'm hopefully finished. So far......
Our low should be between 19-21 tonight so we have a load of sugar maple with a few splits of soft maple in the Liberty.
They’re predicting 2-4” out of this storm for us, but some areas are going to get hammered again. It got colder again last night and dipped into the lower 20s. Winter making a return visit I guess.
Predicting 6 to 10 inches here, accumulating before Friday. But in all honesty it hasn't really stopped snowing since the last storm. Not much accumulation but it just never stop snowing. The real challenge without is the ground is unfrozen underneath so whenever you go out you just make a mess.
12" - 18" predicted here but it seems light compared to the last storm. We have about 4" so far. South Shore down by the Cape is predicted to get 18" - 24". Seems like only essential workers are out now and roads are quiet. Governor pretty much said stay off roads and let plow crews work. Winds are not bad here. Power flickered only once.
Power is solid here. Snow is still coming down. Guessing 10-12 inches so far. Lots of branches bent over. Sent from my SM-T280 using Tapatalk
240,000 customers in the state out of power. Mostly South Shore it sounds like. About 8"-10" now. First round of snow removal done. Round 2 around 7pm.
