I’m a fan of plastic pallets for stacking my firewood on. I have grabbed a couple here and there and there are different grades and sizes mixed under my firewood. I finally found a good sized stash from a guy in Cincinnati. I picked up 20 and will pick up 20 more later this week. That should keep me happy for a while. I plan on lining my shed floor and start stacking a lot of Red Oak in the field on them. I have started to use cinder blocks with metal fence posts running across them. I don’t want to use wood and have to clean up rotting pieces before starting a fresh stack. These pallets last a long time. The last pallet in the truck is a little lighter duty than the rest. All the others are heavy and all uniform.
Uuuummm...an “Awesome Score” is in order! But can’t resist adding- Those will serve you a good long while OhioStihl
$10. I’ve seen them advertised as low as $5 for cheaper ones and $25 for the heavy ones. If your interested let me know and I will pass along his info.
The second load was ready for me as promised. 20 more heavy duty pallets are stacked at the house. He had 100 total and only has a couple left. He told me he usually gets 10-15 plastic a week. Sometimes he gets a large amount like this last time. He told me to just give him a call and he will start saving them for me when I want another load. I told him I would pass that info along to the FHC. If anyone is in proximity to Cincinnati and wants good plastic pallets, we have a source for them. Just let me know. I might even be able to pick them up and hold them at my house depending on schedules and work. It’s going to cost someone some beer though, good stuff like Guinness.
