Finally got to splitting and stacking some cherry today (roughly 1 and 3/4 cords). Unfortunately, all by hand. Had to un-bury it from recent snow fall though. How'd you guys do?
Nice work for sure !!! Had to stop cutting for next season...to cut more dead standing poles to get through the rest of this season BTW.........Cherry is my favorite..just sayin
Looks good Art.....I always have some cherry in the stacks, it's pretty plentiful around these parts. I've got some cherry and american elm in the stove this morning come to think of it.
Good job, Art. That's a lot of work there. When time allows, I like to sit and observe how cherry burns in the stove for hours and hours. Seems to me that it burns with a different flame aura than most other wood. Good scent, too.
I love burning cherry, it smells so good. Unfortunately my stacks are low on it . There was none in my last log load and only one or two logs inthe previous delivery.
Yes, those are some nice looking stacks. Me got no cherry either... But I gots me some black birch, ash and red oak.
Thanks guys. Yeah it did split fairly well. Had a few eight foot logs that wood have made decent lumber. Oh well, I still have one more to c/s/s once some snow melts.
