Sure thing Steve, the units here are only a few months old ( Nov. '17 ), so I wouldn't be surprised if that was a factor also over time,

the 1st PFC UPS I had on the stove was only a 1,000 watt unit - stove startup surge @ 450+ watt was tripping it / causing it grief, upgraded to the 1,350 watt in '16, seemed to work ok / ended up re-tasking that unit shortly after end-of-season,

the current new 1,500 watt units -
    (1) for stove only / no other devices,
    (1) for entertainment center (TV / DirecTV / BluRay player / Linksys Router, Netgear switch) are doing good, so far.

If you can plug your unit in direct to 110v output @ the GenSet, maybe that will give you better info. on the line voltage / Hz output .. we always run 240v switched -> into house service here.

I have the printed instructions for most of the Cyberpower UPS units available, if you need any info., give a shout - I'll be checking in regularly today.

    Kind Regards, Rob

According to the mechanical clock on the stove, we lost power just before 1:00pm yesterday. Eversource left a broadcast message a little while ago saying power would be restored to most households by 9:00pm Sunday. More heavily impacted areas would take longer. Got a feeling we're in one of those areas.

I just have a cheapie Champion and like most the voltage and frequency run higher to compensate for more load then it drops down into more "normal" range with higher load. The genny actually works great but I probably should have bought a larger one. Being I deal with generators and UPS' is as part of my job you think I would know better. :picard:

Cheep works - if I could get a couple of the squirrels that were climbing all over the house last night (all night :picard:) on a treadmill turning a motor to power a light bulb ... I'd be a happy guy.

Steve, I wouldn't sweat it at all - if the UPS is protecting the stove from any utility power issues, and the stove runs fine on straight GenSet power, that's a beautiful thing right there.

Heck, the fact it starts & runs when you need, it is a beautiful thing.

I see those Champion-branded Gen Sets pretty regular at Ocean State Job Lot when I visit: they look well built, and easy to operate.

    * You could always 'borrow' a 40Kw or so Diesel GenSet from work ..

    Me - "I don't know "

Hope that was the old snow blower and not the new one!

I got home from my class and cleaned up the berm at one end of the driveway from the road plow, then the berm at the other end from the roof dumpage. Happy to report that everything in between had melted - yay for blacktop since it didn't actually get all that warm here temp wise.

Nope, the new one. :picard: ...

It's called a Toro for good reason - 'cause trying to get any kind of tool back at the impeller, without being 'gored' & shredded is damm near impossible.. :headbang: ... gotta remove the shear pins, & disengage auger gearbox from the impeller assembly tomorrow am. so I can spin the impeller backward, Yay ! Sigh. :(

I had to completely disassemble my honeys Troy Bilt when the dog runner wrapped around the auger shaft. Whole front end had to come apart :headbang:-Google was my friend that day and McGiver was called upon to make parts from the hardware store that were not readily available at the small engine shop
