Send a text. More often than not, it will go through, even with no cell service.

I always carry my cell phone on me. My phone can be dialed or texted by voice, among other things.

Ouch. I hope you get better soon Ejp1234 . 36 is far too young to have back issues.

Sorry to hear that your back let out on you.

Jill has had back problems for years (she's 65 now) and once threw her back out just bending over to pick up a sock off the floor..

Yeah, getting older sucks, but there's no good alternative either.:hair:

Rest your back, but still move as much as you can.
Muscles tend to tighten up if not used, and that will increase the pain.

Heal up, then consider a back brace for your woodhoarding.

Ouch! I was there several times before I let someone talk me into surgery. Biggest mistake I ever made. You’ll bounce back but it will take some time. Take it easy but keep moving as much as you can. You’ll stiffen up awful if you don’t move. The older you get the harder it is to recover. Best of luck to you!

I have had back issues for years went through PT that didn't really help me I get the most relief from my Chiropractor some times it takes many visits. Rest and relax just don't stop trying. Get Better. If you do try the back brace be carful not to overdo they have a tendency to give you a false security.

Back injuries are no joke. People use their back in everything they do, from walking to just lifting a cup of coffee off a table.

I hope you have a speedy recovery. Take care of yourself, and be careful if they prescribe you opiate pain killers. They are highly addictive.

It either finally loosened up enough or I was loopy enough to get on my side to sleep last night. I never have and probably never will be able to sleep flat on my back. Took a few minutes to get up this morning but once up and moving I feel "better"... But trust me Im using that term loosely. Yes Im on opiates, and Im not worried about being addicted... #1 i hate being itchy, and #2 I enjoy the feeling after a "morning glory" and well, if you've ever taken them, u realize that right as a human seems to be taken away lol. They gave me a laxative to take in conjunction with them but until it takes less than 5 minutes to get out of bed I dont think they are a wise choice lmao..

Ive never had back issues before, not like this atleast. Ive pulled some muscles before, but thats more so my neck area and in 2days or so no meds I was back to normal.

I assume the round I was picking up, which was a beech round, probably 18"w x 22"l was just a bit too heavy and or I used my back more than my knees.. Dunno... Ive done it tons of times thru the years, infact it was just what two weeks ago I cut that tree up and loaded it into my tractors bucket... this time my body said no!

Ejp1234 we feel for you for sure. Please take care of that back. As far as what causes this sort of thing, it can be many different things. Also, people can say what they've done but each person and each injury is different. Whatever, we wish you a quick or even a super fast healing.

fwiw, we were just talking about this earlier today. I injured my back badly 33 1/2 years ago. A freak accident but painful nonetheless. I too laid for a while and I too was alone at the times. And for sure no cell phones back then. Anyway, we know what it is like and yes, I still fight it today. It is not fun either.

I hate to recommend much but heat can do good for most things like this. Pain clinics like to say 20 minutes of heat followed by ice. That might work for some but with me ice makes the pain multiply amazingly. But then, part of that comes from the fact that I had polio in my youth. That was a few years ago...

Opiates make you constipated, hence the laxitives...

Oh, I see, just threw it out there if that could work instead of laxatives. The hospital loaded me up on them after a c-section and they were very helpful. Come to think of that, they had me on percoset too, makes sense.

They always worry about me because I take quite a bit of percocet and sometimes other things too. It is very rare for me to have that problem and the doctors are befuddled because of it. After surgeries I have to be careful because they automatically will give you stool softeners. I won't take them and then they try to get all over me. Sorry folks. That is one problem I don't have...usually. But have had it a couple times.
