Tori Burley, of Mackinaw City, Michigan, spotted blue ice chunks along the Straits of Mackinac on Sunday. (trilliumandpine.com/Tori Burley) I'm wondering if yooperdave was cutting up blocks of ice for 99.
The Weather Channel has us getting 5-8 inches of heavy wet snow from the system coming up the coast with wind gust possibly hitting 40 so I guess tomorrow I'll put the plow back on the 4540.
Good luck with that. They are saying it is all going below us so you and Gas get to enjoy it. Our winter up here seems to have gone on vacation, but I do believe we have a couple more kisses yet to come....................
Snowing to beat the band here.. With 6 foot snow bank and 2 feet on ground.. But I went north of border to find it.. Trois rivera. Quebec
Northeast weather alert keeps on running the data through different models, and he's still getting different outcomes a few times a day. Looks to be wet and wild, possibly with a heavy wet snow for central new england. I'm amazed that the models keep changing at this point for precipitation, but wind and flooding will be severe along the coast, be safe!
Good luck to all you folks in the NE and coastal areas. Sounds like you are gonna have a messy weekend for sure. We are gonna luck out as it is all going under us. No doubt there will be a run on the bread, milk and flashlight batteries. So batten down and ride er' out. Oh, and don't forget the TP........................
Seems that every Nor'Easter this year has been during astronomical high tide. This one is supposed to last thru 2 tides, so flooding will probably be worse than the previous storms. Would be much better for the coast if it was just a regular storm coming either straight from the west west or the from the north.
I hope it doesn't wash away Revere Beach. My go-to beach, a nice big stretch of sand. Very low tide yesterday.
Coastal erosion is predicted with damage to sea walls. The communities that flooded on the last storm are already warned to evacuate. Outer Cape Cod is predicted to see 75 mph gusts. We had lots of downed trees on the last storm that seemed to be rotten. The ground has thawed a bit around here, I'm curious if we will see more uproots. Chainsaw and snowblower will be checked today. Possible power outages predicted.
It sounds from the report from the Weather Channel this morning that the winds, storm surge and flooding will be very bad, I hope everyone in the areas that will get hit the hardest heads out to a safer area.
The reports here change by the hour. Now snow is back in the mix. I guess this one is hard to track even though it’s only 24 hours out. Stay tuned to your local channels. They may get this one wrong and we could get two feet of snow.
I'm in the 3-6" range but wind isn't supposed to get more than 30 mph. Those on the coast are expected to see at least 50 mph along with the high tide and whatever type of precipitation.
we are now on red alert, cars stuck on motor ways, for the night towns are shut down,me in doors nice and warm.a 7 year old girl got hit and killed down in cornwall tonight. so sad.
