Thanks for posting that! I'm gonna try to reverse the lean of my 3x3s, like in that thread. I think that narrowing my "vee" might be helpful.

Pipe and fittings, that's a great idea. I think, not sure, Those are sold with just the metal parts you get your own wood block to put it together. The main advantage to the these is that when you are cutting the logs, there is nothing directly below that can be caught by the chainsaw reducing the risk of getting hurt or damaging the chainsaw or saw horse.
