Our internet went out last night. We have mercury network that runs off an antennae because we live in the country and can't get anything else. Mercury had an outage last night but my husband thought it was our wifi, instead of unplugging it to reset it he pushed the reset button. He then connected PS3 to the internet and somehow changed the network name. Now I can't connect anything else because it says I need the password. He says he didn't set a password...
Any suggestions? I am kind of a computer dummy so please, use small words

Some new routers have default passwords printed on the bottom of the device.

Router will default to the factory user name and password which should be in the manual.

If not, There should be info on tech at mercury if they have a site.

    Edit: Got beat by Griz!

    What they said.
In a sense, your husband did set the password..... Reset put it back to default.
What's the brand and model? The info is out there on the interwebs if Mercury can't help.

    Hmmm.
What did you do different on the laptop?
You could try logging into the router and setting the name and password back to what it was......do you have that info?
If not, just set them to whatever you want and write those down. Then use that info to access the wifi.

I figured it out! I have no idea how my Hubby did it but somehow he changed the network name and the password.

In my laptop I found the wireless network and it showed the password.

I got our phones and kindle working now too. Not bad for computer dummy! ;)

Had to attach a pic...to prove it happened ;)

Yeah...I told him "Do not touch that. Ever. Again."

He promised that if I never clean his "fishing room" aka man cave again then he will not touch the computer. :)

Changes are you are still welcome to sweep, mop, dust as long as you move nothing. My dad has the same problem-- mom moves everything and the he spends the next week getting things back and then she does it all over again.

Now lock your hubby out. Hide the password in with the cleaning stuff. He will never find it.
