Another "Fake" holiday instigated by the Hallmark Greeting Card Company....................real life version of a "chick flick" !!!!!!
Just got back online. Jerks working on replacing a bridge a mile north of us cut the line...again. Hard to believe. They know where the line is and cut it once before. Talked to the phone guy and he says they were all denying they did anything. Phone guys went for their backhoe and strangely found there was no frost in the ground where they were digging. Hum. It's like someone else dug there too...
OFF TO GO FISHING in June YIP YIP YIPPE Took my wife to Red Lobster for Valentines Day tonight. My wife hands me a card. There was a note in the card. "You know that fishing trip you told your sister that you couldn't afford? Pack you rods" I will be off in June to spend 10 days Grayling fishing in Alaska. My sister has invited me to this trip for years and I never wanted to part with the money or had vacation time when I was working. My sister has fished this place for years. She normally catches over 600 Graylings in a 8 day period. Such a good wife. The only thing bad is the 12 hours spent in the airplane or airports getting there. I think I can handle that. Finally feeling a little better today. Had the running nose and stuffed up head chit for the past 5 days.
That’s amazing! I have been to Alaska once and it’s absolutely beautiful. I took the Alcan Highway and what a trip! My only regret is not going back again. Have fun up there! It’s dedinatly a once and a lifetime thing for most of us in the Midwest.
Definitely everyone should make the trip at least once. My first trip to Alaska was in 1989. I believe this will be my 10th trip. The problem in the past has been timing issues or money at the times she invited me. We did part of the Alcan Highway, Prince George to Anchorage, in 2012. I don't know if there is any more beautiful scenery in the world than Alaska and the northern part of the Alaskan Highway. Should be going close to bogydave 's place. I believe he is in the Wasilla area. We will be going right through there. May have to stop and check out his stacks.
Well, it has been a busy week but we have kept up with the walking every morning. Weather has been just above freezing and most mornings it has been dry. We are in for a below freezing stretch next week. Jan. 9 campinspecter signed us up for Weight Watchers and it is working. Now that I can go for long walks, I have lost 13 lbs. over the last 6 weeks. Of course men lose weight faster so campinspecter has lost more than I have but he has been going for two walks a day - not one. I would like to get down to my pre-foot surgery weight. Laying on the couch and not walking for a year has added the pounds. Everyone have a good weekend and Happy Chinese New Year today.
Hey, you could bypass that 12 hours on the airplane and airports by just driving up the highway. A short trip!
Weight watchers, huh? Isn't that the one where they want you to eat weird foods? Go to their parties and weigh in for everyone. Get a boot in the seat of the pants if no weight loss? I lost over 20 lbs when I got so sick a while back and had that surgery. Trouble is, I've gained most of that back; maybe all of it and lost a lot of muscle. Hopefully I can get some of that back soon as I hate this stuff of not being able to do much. Have to get in better shape for the GTG too. Maybe you and Allan could come to the GTG? That would be awesome and I know many who'd love to meet you two.
Hey back, Woodwidow and Yooperdave! I guess what I am up to while it pours is planning for the gardening season. Nothing like seed catalogs to help usher in the Spring feeling!!
