I've been burning a mixed bag lately and have been finding more even burns. Not super long, not super hot, but not short, and not cold. Right now the stove has 1 Large chunk of Hemlock, 1 average sized piece of Cedar, an average chunk of Tulip Poplar, three average pieces of Black Locust, and 2 average pieces of Ash. Other species in the shed right now that are getting tossed in as they come are Douglas Fir, Blue Spruce, Elm(variety unknown), White Oak, Red Oak, Dogwood, Hackberry, Norway and Red Maples .............I'm sure theres a few more but hey.

I'm finding the mixing is really lending well to more complete burns and steadier output in my BK princess Ultra.

What cocktails is everyone using and are you liking the results.

Lately it's various maples, elm and cotton wood. Works for me! I like mixing when certain woods I have aren't as seasoned as others.

My dry mix right now is ash, soft maple, popular, cherry and elm. It heats the house and been stacked for over 2 years. Next few years is mostly ash and popular, waiting on a couple cord of sugar maple for arctic blasts next year. I really have shortage of high btu wood.

At the moment, it’s been a mix of maple, mulberry, walnut, ash and oak. The weakest of the bunch being the walnut. Usually at least 3 species every load. Results are good. I’d love a firebox full of red oak.

I have been in to a spot in the stacks with mostly beech and shagbark......cherry and locust sprinkles or should that be locust sprinkles with a cherry on top.

I always mix when I have a lot of locust in the house.

The Fireview is on a steady diet of red oak currently. As far as mixes go, I really like mixing beech and ash but currently have no beech. Cocktails? Just another bottle of wine...please and thank you
