Gonna be mid 60’s today and high 20’s tomorrow so gonna take advantage and try and get this pile done. Wish me luck !!
Mykidsdadd, safe cutting, you don't need luck, its work. You need your health, strength, time and ambition. You're good.
I see the time stamp was 9:56 am and there’s no splits stacked yet what gives ?!!! I’m a bit of an early riser, sorry Looks like some nice working weather I’m jealous we are around 15 with fairly heavy snow today.
Let me guess: hackberry, oak, elm, and maybe some silver maple. Typical NE OK firewood. Where you located? Muskogee here. Do I see hickory also?
It isn’t too impressive gents. Better half took off early so she changed my plans, totally worth it ! I did manage to go cut another load and haul home so now the pile is bigger.... another day....
Seriously?!? There are some 24”-28”’rounds in there !!! That would be AWESOME! I sell a little here and people request anything from 12”-14” up to 22”-24”. I tryand keep it around the latter under the assumption no one will pay my high prices and I get to keep all the wood for myself !!
I still can't find the pecan. You need to attend our GTG in March. Bring the kids. Hedgefest GTG 2018 in Carthage, MO. March 30-31
Admittedly I suck at tree identification for the most part, I can usually tell him oh, for sure a hickory and if it’s a hardwood. I am is never a problem either. But isn’t this Pecan ? I can see you were kind a looks like a maple but the wood inside sure looks like pecan to me. It was a big tree and I know they can get a little flaky bar when their large. I’ve been wrong plenty before though so I would be interested to know if I’m right or wrong!
Hard to tell from here. Pecan bark can differ widely depending on size and species of pecan. If you say it is pecan, I believe you. I definitely do not think it is silver maple after looking at the close up.
