Your organizing looks good to me. 2 piles. Split and unsplit.

Nice work there. The more I do this, the more important I find it to clean up after myself every time or two I split. Mrs Papi started me on it, and I came to appreciate not running over splitter waste with the lawnmower, not spending half a day cleaning up before a party, etc.

Ya this is my buddies house, his entire driveway was full of tree trunks and rounds...I couldn't stand the mess anymore, so I gave him a hand so his wife didn't murder him for having such a mess out front. lol

That too is one reason I like splitting in or near the woods rather than in the yard. Sometimes I clean things up and sometimes not. Who cares if it is not cleaned up? The deer and squirrels don't seem to mind.

Wish I could do it that way, but unfortunately my little bit of trees here is on a heck of a hill. My splitter would be looking like that Craigslist ad! Lol

Next house, more property with flat woods!

I almost always split in the woods.

I did skid out logs from my property, load them on the trailer, take them to the house, cut-split-stack at home. Less work and handling but i hated the mess and also just missed my time in the woods. Cutting and splitting at my house just wasnt nearly as relaxing.

Same here. Sometimes I can fell and buck trees but not be able to haul the rounds out for a couple of months. It has to be either frozen fairly deep or near bone dry to get the truck up to them.
