Glad to see you.got.something Midwinter I haven't seen crap on CL around here for a while. Last year there was plenty of multi tree drops for the taking. Haven't seen a single one this winter.
It was just a mile or so away, in Nashua. I think I missed the rest of this tree over the weekend, I was too busy. This last peice was just too heavy for the other slackers to drag off! I know, it has been really slow on CL. But I have to believe there's a lot out there to clean up, with the assorted ice and wind events we've had. Maybe people are waiting to see what else comes down before they call the tree service.
If you are out of stuff to split, you might be tempted to go to this one in Winchester. FIRE WOOD FOR SALE, $20 A PICK UP LOAD.
I've seen that guys posting. I've held off because it's a bit farther than I care to go, and its been there for a while, so i wonder why nobody else has taken it. but I might just have to at this point.
All the smaller stuff is probably gone, just the big honkers left. Wedges and hand truck needed. If so, my kind of deal! Meetcha down there?
I think so, as long as you've got the time to quarter them before loading them up. It'll all be under snow tomorrow though.
If they are too big for tossing in the back I'll bring a trailer. That said,I went back four times to pickup some monster oaks that only three would fit at a time in my SUV...the neighbor wanted a few so we helped each other...too big for one guy.
I don't have a trailer, just an SUV, so if I can't pick it up, or roll it in with an improvised ramp, I need to break it down to manageable size. Sometimes the homeowner helps, which is nice.
Yes, when that road rage guy that ran you off the road gets out of his car with a screwdriver in his hand you can speak softly and carry a burbling chainsaw. Just remember to avoid using the upper quarter of the bar tip. You don't want him kicking back. Safety first.
