Annihilation ( the movie advertised before the super bowl) looks amazing as well. Annihilation Teaser Trailer - Movie Insider
Just watched the Women's Canadian curling championship game. It was a thriller - down to the last rock. The team that won it, did it for the sixth time tying a record. Sorry, the Super Bowl couldn't compete with the curling game.
What really sucks for Australia is he fact it’s now cheaper to import cars. They are shutting down the last Holden plant soon and most of Ford and Toyota have already left. It’s really pretty sad
Yes Pallet Pete, It's a real shame. Ford stopped manufacturing here in October 2016, Toyota and Holden in October 2017. A lot of people lost there jobs not just in the 3 main manufacturers but all the company's that supplied parts and raw materials. One of my good workmates and apprentice wood hoarder, had worked at the Toyota Altona plant, And his farther worked there right up till the day it closed. I must say though my workmate likes his new job (happens to be my old job) a lot better than working on the Toyota production line. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Sounds a bit like Michigan. Used to be the big automotive state but you'd hardly notice that now. I remember the first times I saw some of the huge automotive plants and the amount of people working there and figured they would be there forever. Then, like a flood they started disappearing like crazy. I especially remember the big foundries in Saginaw and the big Buick plant in Flint. Man, that Buick plant was huge. Then they closed it and flattened it.
I worked for a few suppliers when I came back to Michigan years ago then when I drove Over the road trucking I hauled lots of Chrysler DCX freight out east. The floor jobs paid little but the dcx freight was a cash cow for me. Most of those jobs are closed up and gone now. DCX is still around but not anywhere near as big as when I was OTR. Really a shame I may not have been happy in the factories but it fed a lot of families. Driving jobs are all over and growing. I could walk out and pick what I wanted with my experience but that’s not what I want to do anymore so some other fella can have the seat and a job. That at least I’s one field that provides jobs in MI still...
But it is too bad they put some of the restrictions on drivers that they do. For example, I cannot pass a DOT physical, but I can drive any truck out there and do as well as any and better than several. But, I can't pass a physical for OTR. I can legally drive inside the state but not cross the state lines. I perhaps should not admit it but I did drive interstate, illegally, but got the job done and fortunately never got caught. That was perhaps a miracle.
Here in this state if you have a clean record and want to drive a truck you can pretty much go wherever you want. The logging industry is desperate for drivers. It's so hard for any of my contractors contractor's loggers that is, too find good contract haulers that want to work and will come to work regular.
