As I said in another post, I'm looking for a better rail/edge dressing tool. I don't need anything fancy or motorized for dressing my bar rails and edges. I've been draw filing with a fine mill file as needed but I think either the Pfred or Oregon would work better and be more precise.

Any you kids use either of these, or maybe something else you like better, that you could recommend?

I purchased the Pfred dressing tool last year it seems to work quite well, however I still use a mill file to remove the burs that form on the edges of badly worn bars before I use the dressing tool.

I use the Stihl version that’s essentially the same. They work well for me.

Being able to properly draw file is a skill to be proud of, why do you want to change ? The cost of the pferd as a single purpose tool is sorta high, possibly covering a Craigslist table top belt sander with a multitude of uses.

Well, my work bench is the top of the washing machine and during the warm weather it's the table on the back porch. A single purpose tool is all I have room for.

40 years ago I had an FFL and a a gunsmith shop with all the toys including blueing tanks and rust bluing cabinets. I draw filled many a muzzle loader barrel before I built the rifle. But that was then and this is now.
